This term we will continue our study of Plato’s Apology. The Apology is Socrates’ defense speech when he on trial before the Athenian people for “corrupting the youth” and believing in gods “other than the State gods”. He will be found guilty and will be sentenced to death. His speech defends his life pursuing philosophy and his uncompromising love of Truth and obedience to his divine calling.
