ARE YOU INTERESTED IN VOLUNTEERING AT THE SCHOOL?
As a not for profit, Volunteers are an essential part of the School’s viability. Volunteering will be rewarding for yourself and the School. It's a chance to meet new people, make new friends whilst helping improve the School.

JOIN OUR DIGITAL TEAM
The School of Practical Philosophy will be charting a new course through the world of digital marketing to win the hearts and minds of the next generation and we are looking for help.
While our value proposition and culture is more relevant today than it ever was, competition for mindshare and cutting through with our messages to interested people is becoming harder. It’s time to re-evaluate the way we communicate with the world, and we are looking for digitally savvy volunteers to work with Anthony Renshaw, Head of School, to plot a new course.

WEEKLY SERVICE (DURING TERM)
FLOWER ARRANGING – MAHRATTA
The flower team meet at 9am Monday’s to cut flowers from the garden and arrange vases for each of the rooms. It's a lovely way to start the week and provide all of the students with beautiful arrangements. If flower arranging sounds like something you would like to participate in, please let us know
CAKE & BISCUIT BAKING
Are you able to bake a cake or make biscuits? If so, please bring them with you to class and deliver them to the kitchen (please label your container so we can return it to you). If you would like to do this on a regular basis, please let us know and we can assign a particular day to you.
TEA & COFFEE SERVICE
Would you be able to attend once a week during term to assist serving Tea and Coffee for 2.5hrs? The Tea Team meet each day/night at each location (CBD, Mahratta and Manly) to prepare sandwiches, set up tea and coffee, serve during the session break and then clean away. If you’re interested in volunteering, please let us know
HOUSE TEAM – MAHRATTA
Mahratta has a House team to keep the Art-Deco mansion in pristine condition. The School requires many hands to carry out this work, including full house clean at the beginning and end of term, plus light cleaning each week to prepare the premises for the classes. Plus other general responsibilities across the year such as assisting with preparing the house for special events, decorating, management of linen, artworks and catering etc.
HOUSE TEAM – CBD
The main duty for the CBD location is light cleaning each Saturday morning from 7-9am to prepare the premises for the week. Whilst this is not the most glamorous, it is an essential element to providing students with a beautiful School. If you are able to assist, please please let us know.

OFFICE
GENERAL OFFICE ADMINISTRATION
Do you have a lovely phone manner? Happy to help filing? or perhaps you’re a wizz with computer programs? The office needs more hands on deck. This could be a weekly basis or for special events, or assisting during the start of each term.
DESIGNERS – GRAPHIC, ILLUSTRATION, VIDEO AND PHOTOGRAPHY
Are you a graphic designer who has experience creating branding for events? Or producing brochures for print? Perhaps you’re an illustrator? Or animator? Videographer? We need designers to assist with multiple projects every term. These include production of flyers, brochures, campaign artwork for events, study days and all the general marketing activities the School carries out. We are currently looking for volunteers, please email us at administration@practicalphilosophy.org.au if you're interested.
MARKETING
BLOG POSTS
Are you interested in writing 1-2 blog posts per month for the School? Topic’s would focus on Philosophy, Mindfulness, Meditation, Sanskrit, Plato and more. If you are interested, please contact the School today as we are looking for a volunteer.
FACEBOOK
Are you interested in helping manage, publish and respond to comments on our Facebook page? If yes, please contact the School today as we are looking for a volunteer.
CAMPAIGN MANAGEMENT
Are you interested in helping the School to create, implement and manage marketing campaign activities? If yes, please contact the School today as we are looking for volunteers.

EVENTS
EVENT MANAGEMENT
Do you have experience managing events? Can you assist with preparing management of event attendee lists? Planning and coordinating people/places? Preparing name tags? Set up welcome desks? etc. The School hosts multiple events every term, ranging from single days to events that run over 3 weeks. If you are interested in volunteering, please let us know.
EVENT ASSISTANCE
Would you be able to assist on days of events, talks or seminars? Duties could include preparing the venue, setting up chairs, welcoming guests, prepare name tags, helping with lunch preparation, etc. The School hosts multiple events every term, ranging from single days to events that run over 3 weeks.

MAINTENANCE
GARDENING – MAHRATTA
Would you like to spend time helping maintain the original Sorensen garden? This could include mulching, plant trimming, fertilising, planting, mowing etc.
PAINTING
Are you a painter? Mahratta is currently in need of internal and external painting. Please contact us should you be able to provide assistance.
PLASTERING
Are you a plasterer? We need your help! There are currently areas at Mahratta that need repairing.
PLUMBERS
We need a plumber should any need arise. Are you interested in providing your services to the School? If so, please let us know.
ELECTRICIANS
Are you an electrician? If you are open to providing the School with volunteer service, please contact us and should the need arise, we will contact you.
CARPENTERS
Are you a carpenter? Would you be interested in helping the school on special projects? If so, we would be delighted to hear from you.
ROOF & GUTTERS
Can you assist with repairs and maintenance to Mahratta roof and gutters?
