ATTENDING ANY COURSE OR EVENT AT THE SCHOOL MEANS YOU AGREE TO THE BELOW TERMS & CONDITIONS, WHICH INCLUDES ABIDING BY THE CODE OF CONDUCT.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

ANTI-DISCRIMINATION

Discrimination means treating someone unfairly or less favorably than another person or group because of a characteristic specified under anti-discrimination or human rights legislation.

Discrimination is against the law. It is unlawful to discriminate against people on the grounds of:

  • Age
  • Disability (physical, intellectual, psychiatric, learning and sensory)
  • Religion

BEHAVIOUR

Any student enrolled in a course is expected to behave in an appropriate manner and to show respect for fellow students. Any student who disrupts a class will be asked to leave the course.

REFUNDS AND DEFERRALS

REQUEST FOR COURSE FEE REFUND or DEFERRAL – INTRODUCTORY 10-WEEK COURSE (Pt1)

A full refund is offered if for whatever reason your circumstances change, and you notify us by the end of the first week of the course. Please email administration@practicalphilosophy.org.au

If you stop attending after the first two sessions, you can defer** without charge.

If you have attended the first 3-4 sessions, you may re-enrol in Part 1 for the cost of the administration fee* or be refunded 50% of the course fee.

*Administration fee is $50
**Deferral expires after 12 months 

 

REQUEST FOR COURSE FEE REFUND or DEFERRAL – INTRODUCTORY 3-DAY COURSE (Pt1)

A full refund is offered if you notify us in writing 7 days prior to course commencement.

A 50% refund is offered for all other requests for refund made 24 hours before course commencement.

No refund is available if notice is given less than 24 hours before course commencement.

 

REQUEST FOR COURSE FEE REFUND or DEFERRAL – SUBSEQUENT COURSES (Pt 2-15)

A full refund is offered if for whatever reason your circumstances change, and you notify us before the beginning of Term i.e., before the course commences.

If a student attends 5 sessions or more, then the full cost of the course is charged.

If a student attends less than 5 sessions of the term they can choose to:

  • Apply for a 50% refund.
  • Defer** to a later term for the cost of the administration fee*.

If a student has attended 1 session, a full refund applies less the administration fee*.

REQUEST FOR SATSANGA WEEK REFUND (M & S LEVELS ONLY)

If a request for a refund is made up to a month before the residential a 100% refund of the fee is available upon written/email application to the Office: administration@practicalphilosophy.org.au

If a request for a refund is made up to 14 days before the residential, 50% refund of the fee is available upon written/email application to the Office: administration@practicalphilosophy.org.au

No refund will be available 13 days or less notice prior to the residential.

CONCESSION & STUDENT FEES

The School of Practical Philosophy offers various levels of concession to people who receive an aged pension, a veterans pension, are registered unemployed or are studying full time. In order to receive the discounted rate, students must provide their concession card number or current full time student ID.

CURRENCY

All transactions conducted on this site are in Australian Dollars. We accept Visa and Mastercard only. We do not accept Amex.

EVENT TICKETS

Refunds, exchanges and replacements:

The School of Practical Philosophy will only offer a refund or exchange of a ticket if an event, talk, dinner or any special occasion is cancelled or rescheduled. The School of Practical Philosophy does not offer refunds or exchanges as a result of a change in your personal circumstances or your inability to attend due to outside circumstances e.g. changes to public transport. Refunds for non-attendance are not provided.

SECURITY

All areas of this site that request personal information including credit card details are protected by a Secure Sockets Layer, SSL. This means that the information that is sent to and from our server is encrypted. If someone was to intercept your information they would not be able to interpret it.

The School of Practical Philosophy respects the privacy of individuals and protects personal information. Our Privacy Policy outlines how we will safeguard your personal information in compliance with the National Privacy Principles contained in the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act) and other privacy laws that we are bound by. The Privacy Policy may be amended or updated from time to time.

CODE OF CONDUCT

The School of Practical Philosophy’s (SoPP) Code of Conduct (Code) provides clear expectations as to acceptable standards of behaviour and is implemented to ensure the prevention of injury within the premises where the activities of the SoPP are conducted.

Anyone entering any SoPP premises or conducting business on behalf of SoPP is bound by this code.
