Sanskrit Panini 600x600

Introduction to the Grammar of Pāini

A new course

The Sydney Sanskrit faculty is delighted to announce that it will offer a course on the grammar of Pāṇini, commencing in Week 1 of Term 2. The course will start from the very beginning of the School’s material on the Laghusiddhānta Kaumudī, the ‘light and easy’ version of Pāṇini’s great work.  Students will be introduced to the fascinating world of Pāṇini by learning to recite his sūtras and to apply them to practical areas of grammar.

A basic familiarity with Sanskrit is a prerequisite for this course, such as the School’s 9 term introductory course, or equivalent study.

The sessions will last for one hour and will take place online on Friday mornings at 6.30am. There will be no charge for current students of the School of Practical Philosophy. $100 for non-students.
