PHILANTHROPY - THE IMPACT OF YOUR GIFT

The School of Practical Philosophy operates and thrives on service and generosity of spirit. It is a not-for-profit, volunteer-based organisation providing adult education in the practical application of philosophical principles.

Thanks to generous community and student support, for more than sixty years volunteer tutors have delivered courses in philosophy, meditation and mindfulness that support greater self-awareness, clarity and a sense of community service. Our aim is to promote ‘Philosophy as a way of life’, and to uplift the community.

Service includes the stewardship of our headquarters ‘Mahratta’ – a magnificent, NSW heritage listed home and gardens, the latter designed by Paul Sorensen, the landscape designer of The Everglades, Leura.

You can support the School in four ways:

• Conservation of our beautiful heritage building - by making a donation to the Building Fund. This gift is tax deductible.
• Conservation of our magnificent gardens - by making a donation to the Garden Fund. This gift is NOT tax deductible.
• Contributing to the operations of the school including financial support to other students to attend courses and residentials - by making a donation to the School Priorities Fund. This gift is NOT tax deductible.
• Offering service - We are in need expertise for various conservation and gardening projects, listed on our Volunteer page

Donated funds and bequests are crucial for the ongoing work of our not-for-profit organisation. Your gift will supplement the hundreds and hundreds of hours of service by our community.
