The world of ideas is something that is not usually given much consideration, but the ideas that circulate at any time in history can be very powerful, both the useful ones and the not-so-useful. Often, we pick them up without knowing where they came from or questioning the assumptions behind them.

Postmodernist ideas are pervasive in society and have now made their way into many areas of the education system. Does it have anything going for it? Is it worth inflicting on our children?
