MAHRATTA OPEN HOUSE AND GARDEN

Part of the Ku-ring-Gai Heritage Festival 2025

Sunday May 4

10.00am – 3.00pm

The School of Practical Philosophy has the privilege of being the custodians of a magnificent Art Deco estate – ‘Mahratta’ at 25 Fox Valley Rd Wahroonga. This stately home sits on over an acre of magnificent gardens designed by renowned Danish horticulturalist and landscape designer, Paul Sorensen. This garden is the best of his work in Sydney and on a par with other works such as the Everglades Gardens in the Blue Mountains.

As part of the Ku-ring-gai Heritage Festival, the School of Practical Philosophy is opening up the house and garden to the wider community.

You are invited to spend some time exploring the gardens with family and friends. There is a series of complementary talks and activities available during the day. See the program below.

Guided Tours of the house are available. Book are essential and are through the Friends of Mahratta page.

Morning and afternoon refreshments are available in the Refectory.

Come along and enjoy a day out with us!
